Red Caps

Our school’s Red Caps are teams of responsible Year 5 and Year 6 pupils who play an important role in supporting the infant and junior playgrounds. They are trained in basic conflict resolution strategies, enabling them to help resolve minor disagreements and promote positive interactions between children. In addition to this, Red Caps act as positive role models, offering guidance and encouragement to younger pupils and helping them to engage confidently in play. Their presence contributes to a friendly, inclusive, and well-supported playground environment where all children feel safe and valued.

The role also supports the personal development of our older pupils, providing them with valuable opportunities to develop leadership skills, take on responsibility, and build confidence.
